Working at night

The traffic is busy all the day long on SZR. The minor maintenance & cleaning, are all done at the very early morning (for this moment it is 02:30)
I am heading to the airport.. Out of the town for the weekend. I just realized now,  I forgot my archive harddisk at home. If I can manage next couple of days will be "mobile only"..have a nice weekend.

global village-2

Today I would like to another picture from Global Village.

Global Villiage

Global Village  is located in Dubailand in Dubai. It is claimed that the world's largest tourism, entertainment project. It is the region's first festive area. Every year it has 6 million visitors according to the information on Wikipedia.

In this village there are different countries pavilion. In each Pavilion, there are some unique things to be displayed or on sale for visitors. some pavilions can also add event like traditional dance / show.

In different part of the park there are some concerts, entertainment shows. mostly is it opened beginning of November and will continue to open till end of March. It is open area so the weather has big say on visiting schedule.
It is very attractive for many local residents and also some tourists. I go there once in a year or once in every two years. :)

most of bars has free drinks for Ladies on one or two days of the week.
Most popular day is Tuesday still you can find Ladies night on other weekdays as well.
of course free drinks only available for Ladies and only on selected items and numbers..

Finally I am back in Dubai now.

While I was arranging posts during leave, I didn't consider the day I return I would not have any chance to open my computer. so this is another lesson for the future.. i missed yesterday's post and catch today's one at last minute..

this is a view from one restaurant called Observatory on 52nd floor of one of hotels in Marina area. I like the view from here. i think it is a good place to have "welcome to Dubai" dinner or farewell dinners.. we were at farewell dinner for one of our colleagues at that time. another picture from archive. I hope starting this weekend, i will have a chance to take new pictures from Dubai..

under the moon

couple days back, when I was leaving from The Scene Club's movie night, moon was shining, I didn't want to miss that.
I stopped on the side-walk and took this photo with my small point and shoot camera.

Taken at Knowledge Village. There are many collages and language courses located in this complex. The movie screening was at big Conference Centre of the complex.

on the way..

Today, I left my car at service and this time it will take min 1 day to be done. I stopped by for shopping and on the way back I took a taxi. When you are a passenger instead of a driver, city looks different. I noticed many things which I didn't before.

I took this picture on the E-311 high way. It was called " Emirates Road" earlier. starting from 2013 they renamed it. new name is now, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road. It could be easier for everybody if they would not change the name E611  road as well at the same time from "Dubai Bypass Road" to "Emirates Road" :)

getting direction from people is getting more difficult now,

A- You will take the Emirates Road, ok?
B - which one? the old emirates road or the new Emirates road?
A - how many Emirates Road is here?
B - only one, but earlier E311 was Emirates Road now E611
A - ???

Ghosts of Starbucks

Yesterday, after I left from my friend's home, I decided to walk a bit, instead of going back home and enjoy the nice weather. I was luck the weather was still nice. just around 28- 29 deg C, of course in evening time :)
I took this picture at Starbucks Cafe - Jumeirah Road.
I didn't notice it earlier, that we had Starbucks Drive Through Cafe in Dubai. Maybe because I am not Starbucks fan.

according to the information, I found on internet; this store was opened at the beginning of 2013 and became the 103rd store in the UAE and also the first Drive-Through one in Dubai.

Ghosts of JBR

Tonight, I went to JBR, after new arrangement it is really nice to spent time there but of course the traffic is always unpleasant.

I couldn't have a time to take picture of general view so I found this one from the archive.

fireworks

I was preparing another post for today, but suddenly I heart sound from fireworks. I do not know the exact reason why it was for. Actually I don't care the reason, I always enjoy the view. :)

I know it is very harmful for birds and environment still I cant stop myself to watched them like hypnotised.

Today, sky was hazy. Even I didn't try to take a couple of shots. I remembered this picture from the same point but in a better weather. I changed my mind and I decided to post this one.

It was my first attempt to catch fireworks and as you can understand easily; without tripod, the success was limited.

Still I like this shot. I wanted to post particularly this one, Even it is not matched with general understanding of "fireworks photography"

I hope you will like it too.

view from Burj Khalifa

Another from the world's highest open air observatory deck. "at the top" You can see earlier post from here in that post, you can see feel the real height better than this picture.

Observatory Deck is on the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa.

If you are planning to visit Dubai, it is better to book the ticket online before you arrive Dubai so you can get it at reasonable price in advance.

If you want to buy the ticket and visit the Observatory Deck at the same day, you should be ready to pay nearly 4 times higher than regular price.

Lightning in Dubai

While I was preparing today's post, suddenly my room lightened. I didn't understand what happened. After few seconds I heart the thunderstorm's strong sound. Then it started heavy rain with lightning.

It was a kind of surprise for me, because forecast didn't mentioned that heavy storm is expected today. Or they mentioned but I didn't notice.
these lightning reminded me that I have one nice shot from couple of years back. I guess it will suit today's weather.
