Medals for fun run

Last 6 years we celebrate 23 April national Sovereignty and Children's day among Turkish society in Dubai. Last couple of years we added fun run for kids also these celebrations.

This year, more than 100 kids from different ages (babies, toddlers and teenagers) participate for the fun run. I was volunteer both organization and photographing the event.

Here we have medals for each kid. Since I do not like to post kids picture on internet, I share their medals which are waiting for kids.
It was great fun, Some kids came to us and ask "can we play it again?" :)

Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon 2015

I took this picture at the start of 10 K runners.
I was little bit late for the Marathoner's start this morning.
the winner of Marathon (42km 195m) is Mekonnen Asefa Tsegaye from Ethiopia, with 2:04:32 .

#boostdubai

Tomorrow, here we will have Dubai Standard Chartered Marathon.

Elite athletes will run for the highest price in marathon, There are 10 km and 4 km family run sections as well.

This year they have changed the number / chip collection point from one of hotel to Skydive Dubai's area.
The moment I went there I liked this change. There are plenty of space, relaxed atmosphere, enough parking area no congestion ect..
only negative thing is carpet on uneven surface. I was so careful after I noticed that. But sometimes, things just happen even you tired to avoid.
I injured my left ankle on the way out :(
Hope it will be OK till Friday morning.

Adventure at the mall

In Dubai, Each Mall has something different to take attention. I took this picture last week at Times Square.
This adventure game, is a part of one shop which is selling adventure equipments.
 

X for X

I was planning to post something different for today, but at the last minute I realised today is Wednesday and we reach the letter X.

I couldn't thing anything and after the search in my pictures I found this post from 2012 Redbull X fighters. This is extreme freestyle motocross sport.

I am not fan of this but once they were in Dubai I wanted to see at least once.

While they were competing each other, many audience just amazed with their performance.

They were here in Dubai 2012 and 2013 but Dubai is not in their tour stops in 2014.

Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship 2014

Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship held between 17 Feb - 1 March 2014.
First tournament started as Dubai Men's Open at 1993. Men's and Women's tournament started after 2001.
I took this picture couple of years back at semifinals. At that time we were lucky to find tickets. Tickets are sold out at the same day even just couple of hours after they are available for sale.

Today, there will be Men semifinals and the final will be on Saturday.

Bugatti & Ferrari !!

Yesterday I posted a picture of cyclists from Tour Dubai. Today another snapshot from the same day. Before cyclist we saw many cars which are opening the way for cyclists. After those security cars we were expecting to see cyclists but before them, there was another group of  Police patrol.

I am not fun of expensive sport cars and I have limited knowledge about them. After I heart "Is that Bugatti?" "Ohh my God it was really Bugatti" from people next to me. I understood Bugatti is more cool than Ferrari :) But no problem Dubai Police Department have them both, plus Bentley behind them and another one. I couldn't recognise what was that.

From the small picture it is difficult to understand but I noticed afterwards, drivers in Ferrari and Bentley were women.

Tour Dubai 2014

Tour Dubai; it is quite new thing for Dubai. this year UCI Asia Tour has opened with Tour Dubai which had 4 stages starting from 5th till 8th of Feb.
I took this picture on Saturday from the last stage of the tour and the race track was 123 km.
Here we can see the main group.
The first 3 cyclist were already passed. Security / escort cars were blocking the view so, here we see the main group, while they were passing by Jumeirah Beach Road.

Golf in Dubai

Every year in January or February it is Golf time in Dubai.

Omega Dubai Desert Classic 2014 has been started on 27th of Jan. and it will continue to till 2nd of Feb at Emirates Golf Club this year.
Here is a picture from the Emirates Golf Club. Unfortunately picture is not from the tournament and the man in the picture is not one of famous golf player. Still it can be good for the Dubai's hot agenda in these days.
