Recently I started to see these kind of security people around the city. It started at airport couple of years ago, than the Dubai Mall and on the street.

Besides security people, I saw couple of people in the working on their way to the office with mono wheel gadgets.

ready to board??

Taken at the Creek.
I really like to spent some time and take pictures at this area. It gives the idea of old days of Dubai. Still authentic, and all these goods will export very traditional way even today.

Bicycle Parking Stand

This weekend again I am out of country. I arranged posts from the archive while my absence.
I took this picture at the end of September.
Taken at the Deira, Parking stand at the entrance of underpass.

some of them are not even locked. Maybe they thought those bicycles are not new and no one would bother to steal it.

Abra ride

second post from last weekend. I took this shot from the Deira part of the creek, at second floor of the parking garage.
the cost of the Abra ride is about 1 Dirhem. (1 USD is fixed to 3.65 AED) you can pass from Deira to Bur Dubai with cheapest price.

When ever I have visitor from outside Dubai, I bring them here to experience this. This is not exactly the most popular tourist thing, but if you want to see something different from 5 stars hotels or shiny malls, this is real touch of Dubai.
Passengers are mainly from Dubai residents and they are using Abras as a part of their daily routine, of course you will see some tourist as well. If you want full creek tour with Abra, you can rent it as well. In that case it will not be 1 Dirhem  :)

Bike parking only

I took this picture in the morning at the parking area of our office building.
Most of the times I see motorcycles here in this dedicated area.  This might be the first time I see bike here.
Even the weather is not pleasant in summer time,  bicycle is still popular in Dubai,

Buggy Shuttle in JLT

These buggies have been in service long time back, but I couldn't manage to catch them till yesterday.

Valtrans is giving this service in Jumeirah Lake Towers. You may see similar services from different companies at The Walk / JBR or inside the Dubai Mall. When the distance is long for walking and regular traffic is not available, these are good option.

Considering the heat in summer, walking outside is real challenge.

While I was google it if there is any news about it, I found this from 2013 in Emirates 24/7. They also put one short video showing one of them in action. :)

Heyy Taxi !!

Most probably, due to his belief, driver decorated the car with flowers.

Duabi Taxi  has very modern and nice system. 5 - 6 years back when there was not enough public transport, demand for taxis were so high. I remember that I had to wait 1.5 hour in the queue at Mall or at Airport.
Nowadays it is not the case. Call their number, if your address is already registered in their system with your number,  the nearest taxi will be sent to your address from the system, or you may talk with the operator and ask a taxi for the address where you are.

M for Metro

M for Metro.

Dubai Metro is a driver-less, fully automated rail network. It is launched on 9 th of September 2009.
still network is quite weak but considering how they reached this level in a short time of period, it is impressive. Day by day it is getting more popular.
Actually in summer time, it is quite challenging to reach the nearest metro station.  :)

posted for ABC Wednesday. You can see other bloggers from here.

Give me the Power

I took this picture on Thursday while I was trying to reach to the other side of the city in the rush our. I took the alternative road which is by pass road and our view is mainly for these power transmission lines. When the traffic was stopped I had a chance to take this picture.

every city needs a lot energy and there are plenty of lines in each city. But, when I consider the way how Dubai looks at nights, I believe energy consumption is quite above the average here in Dubai.

The teleferic is located in the Creek Park. The fee is approximately 25 Dhs per person which means 6-7 USD. With this one, visitors can start their journey from the station located near the main restaurant in the Park for making a tour from Al-Garhood Bridge till Al-Maktoum Bridge

Gardener

Last two days I was sharing pictures from Tour Dubai. Today, here we have a cyclist who lives & works in Dubai and use bike for transportation.
Even temperature can get so high (over 40 deg C) during summer time, you will see many people are using bikes especially who can not afford a car. Bikes are cheap comparing to car but very difficult to ride in Dubai during summer time.
