sunset at Dubai Marina

While I was quite, I had to arrange many things.
I moved out from my apartment, sold some furnitures and now I am settle in hotel apartment for couple of weeks. This is the view from the hotel. Again it is Marina but more slightly different from my regular angle from home :)

After 6.5 years in Dubai, it will be hard to leave from this city and friends but I decided to stop working for a while and travel. :)
I am going back to my home country, Turkey and start to travel from nearby cities first.

Slowly I hope to extend my travel to other countries. Cuba in November is already planned, I hope others will follow after Cuba visit.

I am leaving the country at the end of the June. I hope I could have more posts about Dubai. While I was struggle to post regularly, I admire Erik once again. How he handled blogging and moving was impressive.

There are many stuff out here in Dubai waiting to be photographed. I am glad that I photographed some of them and shared a bit of this city with you. Even it is not enough, some is always better than nothing. :)

Burj Khalifa from Festival City

Another view of Burj Khalifa.. this time from Festival City. you can see all the Dubai city line from far distance.

Birds

Most people would not expect to see that much bird in Dubai, thinking it is deserted area.
Surprisingly there are many, in terms of number of different species as well.

Especially during sunrise and sunset, they are more visible.. of course if you are not spending your time indoor, you can enjoy their presence.

There is one bird sanctuary here at the end of the Creek. I tried to reach there once, but I lost my way at that time, :))
There, you may see even flamingos in their nature. One day, I would like to visit.

Yesterday evening the sunset was really good. I really like the weather in winter time. We have fog early in the morning but afterwards most of the time we have clear view unlike summer time.

I like this variety in Dubai.
The same beach, it is a place for running, biking, swimming, sightseeing, wind surfing, or just having a picnic open for everyone.

Between 26th of November till 7th of December there is 5th Dubai International Parachuting Championship. I went on Saturday to watch skydivers. the wind was strong some of jumps were cancelled. But at least I managed to catch these paramotors against sunset.
I will post couple of more pictures from this championship.

Yes, yes it is called "internet city" ..
In Dubai, the naming of places is... let's say, a bit different

For example; knowledge village, Media City, Internet City, Sport City, Heath City ....

in knowledge village you will find many universities, language courses or any other educational places..
in Media City, you will find most of big news channels.

Oracle, Microsoft ABB they are in Internet City..
...and you can guess the rest.. :)

Sunset at desert. 

zest ?

I haven't heart the word "zest" before. When I read the today's theme last week, I started to think, what could be "zest in Dubai"?.
According to Oxford Dictionaries the definition is "Great enthusiasm and energy". Also according to google other synonyms are "joy, delight, excitement,...." After I read all those definitions, I remembered this picture which was taken at desert.

I hope I understood properly. We will see how other bloggers interpreted "ZEST" from this link.

Yesterday the sunset was so beautiful. Silhouette buildings are part of Dubai Marina area. Mainly residential high rise buildings. This area also called new Dubai.

The Palm Jumeirah is an artificial palm shape island. According to plan, there are villas, apartments and several 5 stars Hotels (Atlantis Hotel, Zabeel Hotel, Rixos Hotel. Fairmont Hotel.....)
I took this picture from the Jumeirah beach. The sun was just amazing.
